Though weather and illness have been conspiring against some of you these past weeks, we are pushing on with our winter fun and trying out new and delicious ideas and wines with our Manger! Boire! events.  The Comfort Food concept definitely felt right this past week, so much so that we thought we’d turn to one of our (underrated) favorite winter cuisines, and prepare some British-style cozy, warm dishes.  Some of you may not know this, but Franck cooked for over 5 years in Britain, first at the Ashdown Park Hotel in Sussex, where he honed his English, and then on to London where he climbed up the ranks in the 2-Michelin starred kitchen of Le Gavroche for 4 years.  Rachel also spent a lot of time in Britain (much more of an Anglophile than a Francophile..shhh… First as a college student and as a graduate student, then as a pastry student, and finally a year as pastry chef at Le Gavroche where Franck was the only person who seemed to be enjoying himself in that challenging and demanding kitchen :-)).  So British cuisine is actuallyInline image 1 near and dear to our hearts and we can’t tolerate any disparaging remarks, s’il vous plait!  Please join us on Thursday for Traditional Scotch Eggs (vegetarian option will be available), followed by a Creamy Fish Pie and a tangy Lemon Posset (our ultimate dessert).  Wine, food, recipes, cooking demonstration as well as fun foodie conversation, all for $35.  Please call or respond to this email; avoid the online system for bookings.
