This week’s Manger! Boire! Eat! Drink! is inspired by our French culinary interns, who are finishing up their year at Chez Nous and headed home very soon.  They hail from opposite ends of the country: Thomas from the South and Thierry from the North.  Thomas’ dream dish when he lands back home is a Classic French Fish Soup with all of the traditional garnishes.  Thierry can’t wait to dig into a Breton classic: Buckwheat Crepe/Galette with Apples, Grain Mustard, and Homemade Sausage.  And for dessert, Rachel just gets to pick from her many French favorites: this time from France’s West: Prune and Armagnac Souffle Glace.  We hope that you can join us!  As always, food, wine, recipes, cooking demonstration and fun foodie conversation all for $35.

***Manger! Boire! Eat ! Drink ! is a special prix-fixe event that we do throughout the winter months.  Every Thursday night we feature a different theme, accompanied by wines or other appropriate beverages (ie: Margaritas if the theme is Mexican…).  We present the wines, do a cooking demonstration, serve the dinner and leave you all to eat, drink and be merry.  Everyone leaves with a sheet with the recipes and the wine info, and a local wine shop even offers a discount to anyone attending the event who wants to stock up on some of the great value-wine finds that we discover.  Because of the nature of the event, we ask that you arrive promptly by 6:30 and we need to know exactly how many people are coming.  For that reason, we ask that you do not use the online reservation system to book the dinner.  We’re usually able to accommodate everyone who wants to come, just call us to book and say that you want the special meal. (If someone in the party doesn’t want the menu, we can always offer the a la carte menu of the night to that person, as long as they don’t mind being surrounded by others doing the event).
